| If vampires were real, they would have their own TV shows and political faction. They would have jobs that might be exceptionally dangerous to humans, so long as they could be done at night. They would pay very overweight people to give them blood via sucking it through a plastic tube and needle kit sort of like the ones the doctors use to draw blood. It would just be to keep things sanitary. A really obese person could have several times as much blood as a regular person so they would be able to sate the vampire without dying, or even passing out, and the vampire would pay them for the meal.
So no one would have to die, vampires wouldn't have to starve, and we could be friends with them and watch them on TV do crazy stunts. Stupid Vampire Tricks would be a hit on Fox Reality channel where vampires do things like blow themselves up or drive cars off of cliffs and walk away. It would have crazy ratings.
Some vampires would even be Christians. Why not? If they don't have to kill people to get blood, then there's no sin, so why couldn't they be religous? There might even be vampire churches that meet at midnight on Sunday morning since they can't worship during the day.
See how resilient our society is? We could accomadate friggen vampires if we had to. That's why I'm pretty sure they don't exist because we've not been asked to accomodate them.

| Sure there are Vampires. I know quite a few. They do not feed on blood though. They just find other ways to suck the life out of anyone they can. Financially and emotionally.
Literal blood sucking vampires? I don't think so. Though some vampire wannabes have been known to drink a little blood and act the part. But it is more a mental thing than a physical one.

| "emotional" vampires are the sort i have come across. i think its just a term of speach though. on one forum i got quite friendly with a "supposedly" vampire. they didnt drink blood or suck it out of anyone though. but they did want to. they had an awful lot of emotional problems. as to if they was truly a vampire of the sort we know in films, i have no idea. they did have to keep themselves apart from the rest of the normal human race as much as possible (problem with school here)and didnt go around in the dark hours or fly. but who am i to judge some ones beliefs or preferences in being one. | |

| I have known people, though not well, who played the role. Had their teeth modified. Slept in the day. But it was just a mental fascination with some vampire image in their head.
Acting out a fixation.
I do not think there were ever real literal Vampires.
Do not think the word even existed before Bram Stoker wrote the fictional novel based on the bloody sadistic acts of Count Dracul, who was eventually overthrown and killed like any human.

| He was inspired by the real life of Count Vlad Dracul. Dracul lived in Romania and the remains of his castle still stand, as does the house and town he was born in. He was at war with neghboring Trnsyvana and conducted raids. He was called Vlad the Impailer for the horrendous acts he performed on prisoners and to make all fear him. Do not know how much of this is factual, but the legend was something like this. He would have bound naked prisoners placed sitting on sharp stakes projecting from the ground so their body weight would slowly impale them. He hung bodies from his castle walls. He had cups made from prisoners skulls and reputedly drank their blood from them. His ws a reighn of terror, oppresion, and betrayal. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| I researched this once. Vampires, medically speaking do exist. Obviously the hollywood factor has exaggerated their existence into some form of dangerous undead predator. These people have an iron deficiency in their body, and so by drinking the blood of other people with the same blood type they gain energy. Some have increased senses and strength.
Check it out, there are many vampire bloggers on youtube who can tell you everything about this medical case. There are even people like Don Henrie ( look him up ) who have come out into the public to show just what it is.
Do you believe it? Thats up to you. But if you research enough, you can find some pretty amazing facts that will really make you consider its reality... if any at all.

| IMO if it can't throw an engine block across a football field, and doesnt turn to dust in sunlight then taint a real vampire. :P | |

| modern day vampires are sort of like mythical vampires minus immortality and death in sunlight. nowaday vampires suck their own blood and that of donors. they tend to wear heavy dark makeup and wear fake fangs. they have a very active nightlife especially in clubs and rave bars. | |
